Job Opening: VFX Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage high profile and complex visual effects projects to deliver to creative expectations, deadline and budget.
  • Determine production requirements and advise on best practices, available processes and budgets for all types of VFX projects.
  • Collaborate with Art Director and Client to ensure the artistic style, quality and continuity matches vision and standards.
  • Manage and mentor the CG Artists on complex VFX projects, and co-ordinate their VFX output and ensure high levels of quality control, advise on their technique and provide feedback on work-in-progress.
  • Proactively recommend ongoing pipeline improvements and development.
  • Prepare the visual effects production.
  • Anticipate problems and present solutions.
  • Support the coordination team in order to maintain the pipeline’s efficiency and allow the artists to achieve their production objectives and deadlines.
  • Identify additional tools necessary for production.
  • Supervise VFX artists as needed, in coordination with the VFX Producer for given project.
  • Oversee all aspects for body of FX shots throughout post from start to finish.
  • Delegate appropriate tasks to applicable artists.
  • Actively seek out new talent and help Heads of CG with recruiting new talent keeping an eye on possible gaps in the CG structure.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • More than 3 years of experience as a VFX Supervisor.
  • Extensive knowledge of VFX Production.
  • Knowledge of 2D/3D Software (Maya, Nuke, Houdini…).
  • Experience with pipeline management, data management and asset tracking software.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent aesthetic judgment.
  • Emphatic to Directors vision you can give concise and constructive feedback to VFX crew.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, confident with staff management duties.
  • Must be attentive to the production team, the other supervisors and the coordinators.
  • Ability to supervise and assign tasks to a production team.
  • Previous experience as a VFX Supervisor on set.
  • Great organizational skills and ability to manage a very busy team, while meeting production timetables and budgets.
  • English is a must. Spanish is valuable.
  • Availability to travel.
