Job Opening: Compositing Supervisor
Location: Barcelona, Spain

Experience level:
- 6-8 years of related production experience with at least 3 years of Compositing leadership experience for commercials, feature film VFX or high-end TV/Streaming
Software and Programming Language:
- Nuke
- Python scripting
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for overseeing our entire comp team Guiding the team in achieving the vision of the Director and VFX Supervisor and providing artistic and technical support.
- Be responsible for driving the creative and technical aspects of the final image.
- Advocate to achieve the highest quality aesthetic results in the compositing domain at the shot and show level; have the ability to not only manage the team, but complete the highest-level and most complex shot work.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of Production, VFX Supervisor, client/director, discipline supervisor peers and Compositing team.
- Be involved with Show productions to ensure comp schedules are achievable, based on dependencies and time for Local Team. Ensure that schedules are verified and when needed flag to show when Targets are unachievable due to valid reasons.
- Be Responsible for genuine, timely feedback to Compositing crew members.
- Work with Production to manage the day to day running of the team.
- Work with Production to evaluate artist schedules ensuring they are realistic and achievable.
- Oversee colour pipeline setup on all projects.
- Address issues, presenting strategies and establishing solutions.
- Optimize workflow and identify bottlenecks or problems.
Qualifications:
- 6-8 years of related production experience with at least 3 years of Compositing leadership experience for commercials, feature film VFX or high-end TV/Streaming.
- Extensive experience with all aspects of VFX / photo-real compositing, tracking, grading, roto work, prep, cleanup, image formats, cameras, lenses, colorspace pipelines.
- Advanced experience in compositing in Nuke on complex VFX projects, 2.5d compositing techniques and excellent knowledge of Nuke’s 3D system.
- Should possess strong problem solving skills, technical workflow challenges with procedural solutions.
- A strong creative eye and artistic skills with good understanding of colour, light, film and photographic principles.
- Ability to take on complex shoots and set up the look of the sequence.
- Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Advanced understanding and experience as on-set VFX supervision protocols and best practices.
- Proven experience managing VFX teams of compositors with excellent Leadership and people skills, good communicator and ability to lead and mentor the team.
- Ability to take direction positively, good attitude, work well within a team, and thrives under the pressure of tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with Python scripting/Nuke gizmos/NDK is an asset.
- Knowledge of Flame or timeline-based software is an asset.
- English is a must. Spanish is valuable.
