Job Opening: Animation Supervisor

Location: Mount Dora, Florida

Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Focuses on building a confident relationship with our Partners. They work with the External Director in interpreting their vision and receiving feedback that they will then communicate to our internal team.
  • Able to communicate emotionally mindful feedback with clear draw overs to a team of Animators that were given feedback from our Partners as well as themselves.
  • Partners with the Production Department to work out schedules, casting, and bids to keep the project on track and to ensure deadlines are met and clearly communicated if they’re about to go over.
  • Working with the Leadership team on a project to ensure smooth deliveries from our team to our Partners with our standard quality bar in mind.
  • Understanding of and ability to develop/refine collaborative workflows: need consistency, quality and speed across a growing team.
  • Present animator’s work clearly and seek approval on shots/tasks with Production from the Animation Director and/or the Client.
  • Identify and investigate bottlenecks or slowdowns internally affecting the needs of Production and offer solutions.
  • Keep track of story, staging, and continuity issues within the sequence/edit.
  • Review incoming work from our Partners with the Animation Lead to predict challenges and any missing information that needs to come from our Partners.
  • Motivate and develop our team members and act as a mentor in terms of technical/artistic aspects.
  • Able to reach out and communicate issues or questions on workflow and production coming from internally and externally with Teammates and Head of Departments.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in animation.
  • Good knowledge of a 3d package – Maya.
  • Good understanding of animation principles.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize the team’s work in the context of given timescales and quality requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills, time and priority management.
  • Ability to create and develop productive teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Self-starter with proactive attitude to improve own qualifications.
  • Knowledge sharing attitude and ability to coach less experienced people.
  • Fluent English.
