Job Opening: Senior 3D Animator

Location: Stockholm / Fully Remote

Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality 3D animations for characters, creatures, objects, and environments.
  • Collaborate with the Art Director and the animation team to ensure animations align with the project’s artistic vision.
  • Translate conceptual ideas and storyboards into visually engaging and technically proficient animations.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior animators, fostering their growth and maintaining consistency in animation quality and style.
  • Work closely with developpers to implement animations efficiently and optimize performance in-game.
  • Continuously refine and improve animation pipelines, tools, and workflows to enhance productivity and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on animation-related aspects of the game, such as pacing, timing, and character performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Design and Audio, to ensure animations enhance gameplay, storytelling, and player immersion.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with team members to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve animation-related issues, ensuring smooth integration with other game components.
  • Participate in team meetings, reviews, and brainstorming sessions to contribute ideas and solutions for improving animation quality and efficiency.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, creativity, and a strong work ethic in all aspects of animation production.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A strong animation reel showing expertise in key-framed character acting for games
  • Previous experience on at least one shipped game (or equivalent experience)
  • Excellent UX design and related technical skill sets (wireframing, prototyping, user & screen flows, mockups, UI design)
  • Relevant experience in Maya and gameplay systems
  • Good instincts for realistic and stylized motions
  • Related skills; such as modeling, skinning, and rigging
  • A strong sense of what makes a gameplay experience compelling and fun
  • Fundamental technical understanding of game engines such as Unity
  • Experience working on larger projects working with various stakeholders and diverse, multidisciplinary game teams
  • Tactful and strong communicator, able to mobilize and inspire
  • Excellent knowledge/reasoning when it comes to game development and the realities of production, both from technical and conceptual standpoints
  • Independent, rigorous and equipped with excellent organizational skills
  • Passionate about video games, especially multiplayer or MMO games
  • Basic knowledge of blockchain and web3 technologies
