Job Opening: Middle / Senior Concept Artist (Environment Focus)
Location: Fully Remote (Freelance)
Project Tenure: Long-term (2–3 years guaranteed)
FrameZero is expanding its world-class team for a project set in a modern-day environment, focusing on architecture, urbanism, and uncompromising photorealism. We are seeking autonomous, technical Concept Artists who utilize 3D not just as a supplement, but as the fundamental basis of their design process. If you thrive on analytical environment design and have a portfolio that demonstrates a functional, logical approach to the real-world modern aesthetic, we want to see your work.
Expected Technical Workflow
- 3D-First Design: Direct creation of composition and design solutions within a 3D volume (Blender), working over level design greybox blockouts.
- Speed Modeling & Kitbashing: Rapid generation of hard-surface assets using photo-textures and smart projection techniques.
- Material Excellence: Proficiency in Quixel Mixer (or equivalent) for realistic material blending and creation.
- Scene Assembly: Confident handling and optimization of massive, highly detailed environment scenes.
- Cinematic Lighting: Using physically accurate lighting principles as a primary tool for composition, storytelling, and atmosphere.
- Professional Finalization: High-level photobashing and paintovers that integrate seamlessly with the 3D base.
Our Requirements
- Level: Confident Middle or Senior with a portfolio demonstrating absolute realism.
- Logical Design: Ability to build believable, justified modern-day environments where every asset serves a clear purpose.
- Autonomy: We value artists who deliver final results and meet deadlines without micromanagement.
- Feedback Integration: Ability to work constructively with an Art Director to push visual standards.
