Job Opening: Lead Animator on our Mystery Adventure TV Series
Location: Kilkenny, Ireland
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- To create final animation in Toon Boom Harmony, following the animation style and Animation Supervisor’s brief on the objectives of each scene
- To meet your weekly deadlines as assigned by the Production Crew;
- Completion of creative and technical revisions as requested by the Animation Supervisor in addition to the animation quota;
- To adhere to the work flow structure of the project as requested by the Animation Supervisor, including a clean and orderly delivery of assets and layers to the compositing team;
- To support animators to improve their skills and scenes;
- To be able to give feedback and notes about model and style on fellow artists artwork in form of drawovers and notes, in a respectful and timely manner, in addition to own workload.
- To work cohesively within a team environment and ensure high levels of communication at all times;
- To adhere to the production tools used for tracking workflow, input and delivery/output of animation;
- To address any problems with Animation Supervisor, Production Manager and Production Coordinator;
- To communicate progress of work to the Animation Supervisor, Production Manager and Production Coordinator;
- To follow instructions of Animation Supervisor and Production Manager to meet creative standard and production deadlines;
- To address any problems with the Animation Supervisor, Line Producer, Production Manager and Production Coordinator;
- To communicate daily on progress of work to the Animation Supervisor, Production Manager and Production Coordinator as requested;
- To ensure quality and style of show is consistently achieved in animation work and that all notes/retakes are added;
- To follow exact procedures set by Cartoon Saloon (i.e. file naming and storage) according to the production’s guidelines.
- To be available on G-Chat/G-Meet and by emails during working hours;
Qualifications & Skills:
- At least 4 years experience as an Animator on TV series production or 1 year previous experience as Lead Animator;
- Expert knowledge of Toon Boom Harmony;
- Excellent understanding of traditional 2D animation principles;
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail / accuracy;
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written skills, including a high level of English and ability to communicate with a wide range of personalities;
- Positive focussed approach to work and willingness / ability to inspire a team;
- Proactive approach – continuously finding ways to improve processes for the team for ease and efficiency and receptive / adaptable to change
