Job Opening: Lead 3D Artist
Location: El Segundo, CA, US
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily updates to the Head of VFX on artist and job progression
- Verifies technical solutions proposed by other crew members
- Assisting and guiding the team of artists in achieving the artistic goals of the production
- Lead and guided the VFX team through look development to shot completion
- Assisting in the technical development of VFX production including rigging, animation, lighting, and FX, real-time tool exploration
- Maintain and foster creative collaboration with our producers and artists
- Inspire confidence through strong communication skills and a mastery of visual effects techniques
- Provide constructive feedback to the VFX team by effectively communicating creative and technical goals
- Encourage and maintain a creative and collaborative culture
- Strong leadership capabilities to guide the VFX production team
- Critical eye for detail and a strong aesthetic sensibility, with the ability to communicate visual ideas and solutions to the team
- A visual storyteller with a passion for applying visual effects in filmmaking
- Working knowledge of the visual effects pipeline
- Strong technical familiarity with all the visual effects techniques
- Excellent problem solver who is comfortable navigating through stressful environments.
- Submit bi-weekly project trackers to the CFO and Manager
- Stept will reimburse you for any business-related expenses you incur upon presentation of a request for reimbursement
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of CG/VFX experience as a CG or VFX Lead Artist.
- 2+ years as a Lead Artist
- A CG and/or VFX Generalist who is not afraid to explore future learning techniques and software not limited to Unreal Engine, Stable Diffusion, Blender, RunwayML, GPT-4 and beyond
- Experience in Unreal, Maya or C4d, After Effects, Nuke, Substance Suite, Synth Eyes, Practical 3D Volumes
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must be detail-oriented and organized.
- Submission of Reel/Online Portfolio and Resume required.
- Future interest in working out of our El Segundo office is a plus.
