Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years relevant experience at video game development studio/s.
- Strong knowledge of traditional animation principles and how they can be used to enhance gameplay.
- A solid understanding of the best technical practices and requirements for making animations for videogames.
- A strong understanding and skill for and animating body mechanics and the human bipedal figure.
- A deep, genuine interest in a wide range of animation styles and how to achieve direction without compromising gameplay requirements.
- The initiative, both creatively and technically, to push the quality and caliber of animation forward at the studio.
- Detail sensitivity, a proven aesthetic eye, and strong design sensibilities.
- Excellent communication, creative collaboration, and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to working in a professional, inclusive and supportive environment.
- A passion for motivating, inspiring, mentoring, and educating your fellow team members.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and oversee animation for characters and creatures, and any kind of animation the game requires.
- With the help of technical artists, build and prototype animation pipe-lines and procedures.
- Providing feedback and mentoring for other animators, both technical and creative.
- Collaborate with other artists and the broader team to help bring the project vision to life.
- Actively improve the skill set by keeping up to date with industry trends and techniques.
- Provide mentoring, feedback and assist in the career development of other team members, when relevant.
- Conduct design research into industry best practices and design solutions.
- High attention to detail, a proven aesthetic eye, and strong design sensibilities.
- Excellent communication, creative collaboration, and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to working in a professional, inclusive and supportive environment.
- A passion for mentoring and educating your fellow team members.
