Job Opening: Game Designer

Location: Belgrade, Serbia

Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Use strong design processes that include problem definition, usability principles, research, sketching, and prototyping of design concepts to come up with design solutions that will enrich the experience of our players and address different game challenges
  • Take a creative direction or loosely defined idea and carefully translate it into a full design
  • Design compelling and engaging game experiences for a diverse set of new and emerging concepts that we explore
  • Prototype, iterate, and eventually ship successful and cohesive game features
  • You are responsible for meta-game design, user journeys, and balancing; You will assist in designing any given game elements as needed
  • Work with Game Producers and Product Managers, throughout production and live operations, to determine the time and resources required to deliver quality work on time and on budget
  • Work in a cross-functional team with other designers, engineers, artists, and product managers on turning designs into the final feature.
  • Explore and seek to understand different mechanics and concepts, proactively introducing new concepts into design assignments

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in the mobile gaming industry
  • Game design craft with a deep understanding of meta-game design, free-to-play monetization concepts, and live operations tactics.
  • Strong understanding of the mobile free-to-play industry and experience in playing the most successful mobile games
  • Basic knowledge of applied mathematics – statistics and probability, algebra, trigonometry, calculus.
  • Skilled in any spreadsheet software (Google Sheets, Excell)
  • Proven track record of shipping/ publishing games/features as a Game Designer
  • Ability to pitch and visually communicate designs clearly and concisely within the team and throughout the company using quick prototypes when needed
  • Curious approach to problem-solving and ability to work through ambiguity to develop clear interaction and end-to-end engagement models for multiple user segments
  • Ability to contribute to any sub-craft of game design as needed and you understand how they collectively work together to deliver a great player and customer experience
  • Rich experience with different methods and problem-solving techniques you deploy with ease starting with pre-production methods and research through production to final tuning
  • Excellent influence and communication skills
  • Openness to feedback, in such a manner that opening a dialogue is encouraged
