Digital Domain’s FX team is expanding to tackle an exciting lineup of upcoming shows! We are looking for experienced, high-end Houdini FX talent with a proven track record in live-action VFX feature films to join our award-winning crew.
This wave of recruitment focuses on technical leaders and advanced artists capable of developing complex dynamic systems and delivering cinematic magic. If you are ready to build production-grade environments and push simulation boundaries from the comfort of your home office, we want to see your breakdown reel.
Available Roles & Technical Requirements
- FX Supervisor: Artistic and technical leader responsible for managing large artist teams, collaborating with directors, maintaining visual quality targets, and optimizing multi-show simulation pipelines.
- Lead FX Artist: Senior problem-solver tasked with setting up standard workflow patterns, mentoring mid-level talent, and guiding complex shot sequences through final rendering layers.
- FX Dev Artist: Advanced Senior FX Artist specializing in crafting custom, complex “hero” effects looks and developing robust, highly production-ready technical setups for complex feature work.
- Mid to Senior FX Artist: Highly proficient technical directors skilled in executing top-tier simulations across a wide array of dynamic phenomena.
Core Software & Profile Expectations
- Core Solver Stack: Expert-level mastery of SideFX Houdini for procedural generation and complex dynamics.
- Industry Pedigree: Extensive, demonstrable experience delivering photorealistic physical simulations for high-end live-action VFX films.
- System Engineering: Deep understanding of dynamic solvers (FLIP, Pyro, Vellum, RBD), memory management, and data handoff within complex studio rendering lines.
- Remote Setup: Must be physically located in and legally eligible to work remotely within British Columbia, Canada.
