Job Opening: Fix Animation Artist

Dwarf Animation Studio is looking for a Fix Animation Artist to join our animation team for a stylized feature film project. This role focuses on the critical phase of polishing and correcting animated shots after main animation to ensure the highest level of visual consistency. You will be responsible for resolving technical issues ranging from foot sliding and animation pops to complex fur-related bugs and intersections. If you combine solid animation knowledge with a solution-driven technical mindset and a keen eye for detail, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Animation Fixes & Polish: Correct foot sliding, pops, drifting eye direction, and general animation continuity issues.
- Contact & Intersection Correction: Improve contact points and fix penetrations between characters, costumes, props, and environment elements.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Resolve fur-related issues and simulation artifacts using sculpting tools and technical fixes.
- Collaboration: Integrate feedback from leads and supervisors quickly, maintaining the specific style and requirements of the feature film.
Requirements & Technical Skills
- Software Mastery: Solid knowledge of Autodesk Maya and technical troubleshooting within shots.
- Artistic Skills: Basic sculpting skills for corrective adjustments and visual polish.
- Communication: Fluent in English and/or French (bilingual studio environment).
- Preferred Tools (Bonus): Knowledge of AnimBot and experience with fur workflows or stylized feature film projects.
- Mindset: Reactive, efficient, and highly collaborative with a focus on final delivery quality.
