Capsule VFX is expanding its creative visual effects division and launching an immediate recruitment drive for its Environment & DMP team. The studio is looking to onboard dedicated Digital Matte Painting (DMP) Artists who possess a deep passion for crafting cinematic worlds with absolute precision and creativity. If you have active VFX production experience and a portfolio that showcases complex environment extension work, this track offers an excellent opportunity to deploy your creative vision.

Selected matte painters will collaborate closely with supervisors to execute photorealistic backgrounds and seamless environmental designs. The roles provide a structurally professional environment built around advanced projection methods, welcoming artists who are ready to blend traditional artistic foundations with cutting-edge production workflows.

Available Tracks & Scope

The studio is managing intake for two distinct experience tiers within the environment department:

  • Mid-Level DMP Artist (1 Opening): Requires 3 to 4 years of solid visual effects production experience. Responsible for handling complex environment architectures, high-end look development, and establishing shot continuity.
  • Junior DMP Artist (1 Opening): Requires 1 to 2 years of industry experience. Responsible for supporting basic plate setups, layout extensions, paint fix adjustments, and clean-plate tracking preps.

Required Software Knowledge & Skills

Candidates applying for either matte painting track should demonstrate the following pipeline competencies:

  • Technical Specializations: Functional operational knowledge of Nuke camera projections, digital plate extensions, and layered spatial structuring.
  • Modern Workflows: Practical familiarity with AI-assisted workflows and modern asset-generation tools is considered a strong competitive advantage.
  • Artistic Foundations: A background in Fine Arts is highly preferred to ensure strong fundamentals in lighting, perspective, scale, and color theory.
