BOT VFX names Srikanth Swaminathan as CEO

BOT VFX, the Emmy-nominated global visual effects studio, has appointed Srikanth Swaminathan as its new CEO. The Chennai-based executive brings nearly three decades of leadership experience in technology, digital transformation, and large-scale business operations to one of India’s prominent VFX houses.

This move signals the studio’s ambition to accelerate growth while strengthening operational excellence in an increasingly competitive global market.

Srikanth Swaminathan’s extensive leadership background

Swaminathan joins BOT VFX after serving as Managing Director and Global Delivery Head – Commercial at Brillio, where he led complex technology programs incorporating AI-enabled workflows across retail, CPG, utilities, logistics, and media sectors. He managed business units with full P&L responsibility exceeding $100 million in revenue and oversaw large cross-functional teams spanning the US, Europe, and Asia.

Prior to Brillio, he was Managing Director at Investis Digital (now IDX Inc.), successfully scaling the company’s India operations through significant growth and the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier in his career, he spent nearly two decades at Cognizant in progressively senior roles, including AVP – Digital Technology and Delivery Head, where he handled large-scale digital transformation initiatives involving AI, automation, cloud, and emerging technologies. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Madras University.

Known for his operational discipline and people-first leadership style, Swaminathan has a proven track record of identifying emerging technologies and translating them into measurable business impact.

Co-founders Hitesh Shah (Chairman) and Sreyans Bardia (Managing Director) expressed strong confidence in the new CEO. BOT VFX, which operates as a full-service VFX partner with nearly 500 professionals, delivers high-end services including rotoscopy, paint, matchmove, compositing, CG integration, and particle effects for feature films, episodic content, and commercials.

The studio has contributed to major projects such as Wicked: For Good, Stranger Things Season 5, Foundation Season 2, and For All Mankind Season 5, working closely with production teams across the US, UK, and Europe.
