The Emmy-winning creative team at Freefolk is expanding its post-production department and hiring an experienced Mid Nuke Compositor. Celebrating 23 years of industry excellence, Freefolk delivers a full-service VFX offering across advertising, film, television, and music video projects. Working alongside top-tier VFX supervisors and 2D leads in a highly collaborative, tight-knit studio community, you will utilize your technical precision to execute high-end digital composites and solve complex shot challenges for high-profile commercials and long-form episodic productions.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Selected compositing artists will handle complex multi-element shots and live-action integration pipelines:
- Seamless Element Integration: Combine live-action plates with computer graphics (CG) layers while maintaining strict color-space consistency, photorealism, and grain matching.
- Multi-Pass Comp & Projections: Reconstruct multi-channel lighting passes and implement advanced 2.5D projection setups and 3D environment operations.
- Tracking & Asset Prep: Execute required 2D and 3D camera tracking, problem-solving, and workflow adjustments to fulfill complex shot parameters.
- Cross-Department Partnership: Collaborate closely with 2D supervisors, lighting TDs, and fellow compositors to deliver shots to high theatrical standards.
Required Knowledge & Skills
Candidates applying for this mid-level visual effects position must fulfill the following technical benchmarks:
- Core Toolset Mastery: Advanced practical production experience and operational mastery of Nuke.
- Industry Experience: Ideally a minimum of 2 years of active compositing experience within a film, television, or commercial pipeline.
- Technical Competency: Deep understanding of multi-pass CG elements, tracking methodologies, and sharp attention to detail.
