The multi-Oscar-winning creative Film & Episodic studio at Framestore is expanding its production team and hiring a talented Animator. Collaborating with directors and producers across the complete filmmaking process, this role is focused on creating beautiful images, finding innovative creative solutions, and setting new standards for visual effects in cinema.
Working closely with Animation Leads and Supervisors, you will produce high-quality keyframe animation that creates compelling, story-driven, and action-packed moments that fit within the style and pacing of the show.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Selected artists will handle complex character performance and layout motion tasks within the film VFX pipeline:
- Character Performance: Animate both primary and secondary characters, creatures, and elements to establish structural storytelling pacing.
- Production Coordination: Maintain ongoing communication with production teams and lead artists regarding strict shot timelines and deliverables.
- Shot Finalization: Work efficiently as part of an interactive team or independently to complete assigned shots, submit elements for review, and follow through with creative notes and feedback.
Required Software Knowledge & Skills
Candidates applying for this production role must demonstrate foundational core mechanics and software mastery:
- Core Production Toolset: Thorough practical knowledge and workflow execution inside Maya.
- Animation Mechanics: Deep understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, texture, form, and typical rigging set-ups.
- Pipeline Adaptability: Complete awareness of core animation pipelines, data transferring processes between tools, and absolute willingness to learn new technical skills.
