Job Opening: VFX Paint Supervisor

Location: Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India

Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • As Paint Supervisor, you will be an integral part of the Paint team! Working closely with the Head of Paint, Production Manager & Coordinators, you will spend your days:
  • Leading the Creative Direction of a project within the Paint Department.
  • Working in Tandem with Paint Leads to develop the ‘creative look’ on key shots.
  • Reviewing shots in a sequence to ensure technical and creative continuity prior to review with VFX Supervisor.
  • Proactively troubleshoots and solves problems; works independently and provide guidance for team members.
  • Attending dailies and translating creative and technical notes into specific direction for compositing artists.
  • Responsible for the technical aspects of all shows on their assigned show Performing Quality Control checks prior to final send to Clients.
  • Ensuring technical mastery of all shots within the Paint Department
  • Implementing efficient and effective solutions and developing creative and technical strategies to meet the needs of production.
  • Providing support and mentorship to all levels of the Paint team (Junior – Senior Artists).
  • Communicating and delegating the needs of a sequence or project to the Paint Team.
  • Representing the voice of the Paint team with respect to workload and pipeline environment
  • Performing managerial tasks such as performance reviews and technical training as needed.
  • Able to provide estimates for workflow and schedules; delivers high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Attends production meeting; complete corrections/revisions based on feedback.
  • Attending Client calls when necessary.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 6+ years’ experience working on major live-action (realistic) feature films.
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge/experience with Nuke, Silhouette, Mocha, and Maya (preferred).
  • Ability to receive and implement feedback quickly and effectively; takes direction well.
  • Experience training artists and being a mentor; previous management experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, team player, and time management skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision; strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability; escalates issues as needed.
