Job Opening: VFX Editor – Film & TV Episodic
Location: Sydney, Australia
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Process turnover information and revised edits, convert and rename to required project format. Check shot counts against references and troubleshoot any disparities.
- Cut and update sequences with in-progress and completed VFX cut-in for reviews and reference. Prepare for dailies sessions.
- Work closely with internal production, artists and other support departments to provide advice, reference and information when needed. Provide witness cam, line up, retime, resize, audio and another reference to artists.
- Manage Avid media and storage and keep internal edits and databases up to date.
- Cut and update studio showreels as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Several years of experience working in a film VFX Editorial department, cutting room, or similar environment
- Expertise in Avid, and familiarity with RV, After Effects, Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, and graphics. Shotgun experience is a bonus. Ability to learn new software/hardware quickly.
- Experience with SAN data management and secure transfer methods (Aspera, SFTP, etc).
- A solid understanding of the VFX process and terminology
- A solid understanding of film and digital formats, files, frame rates, and resolutions
- Experience in File encoding/transcoding, video codecs, and file formats
- Good eye for detail, detail-oriented, able to work independently, and positive team spirit.
- Strong work ethic, can-do attitude, and Proactive problem-solving.
- Willing and prepared to work on multiple projects at the same time.
- Remain calm under pressure
