Job Opening: VFX Artist [Mid to Senior]
Location: Irvine, California, US
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement real-time particle effects using Unreal Engine 5’s Niagara system.
- Work with artists, designers, and programmers to integrate VFX that complement the game aesthetics and gameplay.
- Innovate and iterate on VFX processes to push visual boundaries while maintaining performance standards.
- Maintain a library of VFX assets and establish guidelines to ensure a consistent style across the game.
- Analyze visual references, participate in discussions, and translate conceptual art into mesmerizing visual effects.
- Debug and optimize VFX to ensure smooth performance across all platforms.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficiency with Unreal Engine 5, particularly with its visual effects and real-time particle systems.
- Strong foundation in the principles of animation, dynamics, and lighting to create high-quality VFX.
- Proficiency in VFX software such as Houdini, After Effects, or similar tools.
- Good understanding of the technical constraints and capabilities within console and PC environments.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a breadth of visual effects in real-time environments.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.
Ideally, you have (but not required):
- Experience in scripting or programming to automate VFX pipelines using Unreals Blueprint editor.
- A history of working on fantasy and/or RPG titles with a strong personal interest in the genre.
