Job Opening: VFX Artist
Location: Tokyo, Japan
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Visualize, create, and implement real-time visual effects
- Create effects that work optimally on the target platform
- Participate in the project’s effects planning phase
- Collaborate with the Technical team to build the effects production pipeline
- Collaborate with other development teams to create groundbreaking effects
- Provide artistic and technical feedback
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with teams from other departments
- Manage effects-related assets
- Coordinate and manage effects-related tasks
Qualifications & Skills:
- 6+ years of professional experience in game development
- Shipped a AAA title as a VFX Artist
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate with multiple departments, as well as mentor other artists
- Strong artistic eye for weight, realism, and energy, and a deep understanding of particle motion, timing, and scale
- Professional experience with Houdini tools, particles, and simulation
- Experience with animating destruction sequences of props/structures
- Experience in creating meshes for effects using Houdini, Blender, etc.
- Business-level English and Japanese
