Job Opening: Head of Pipeline
Location: Munich, Germany
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Manage and drive the design, implementation, and evolution of a standardized Pipeline.
- Leads a team of Pipeline developers, Pipeline TDs, and Render Wranglers responsible for deploying, configuring, and supporting the Pipeline and related RnD efforts.
- Successfully manages agile software projects in time and budget.
- Works closely with the global Cinesite Pipeline Team, Head of CG, Supervisors and Technical Leads to ensure that the Pipeline meets the needs of the studio at large and diverges as little as possible while still meeting the needs of the individual projects.
- Participates in the development of the technology strategy for the Cinesite Group
- Liaise with Heads of Production Technology across the Group to ensure effective collaboration between all studios.
- Communicates upcoming changes to all departments and ensure critical updates are sufficiently tested to minimize impact to production.
- Works with Production and Technology Management to ensure adequate support coverage to meet the demands of all active projects.
- Acts as an escalation point for Supervisors and Production Management to resolve pipeline and work-flow issues.
- Effectively manage software, research and development.
- Implement creative and production software strategies.
- Devise methods to increase efficiency and utilization to fit with global strategy.
- Acts as an escalation point for Supervisors and Production Management to resolve pipeline and work-flow issues.
- Manages vendor relationships and software/technology acquisitions within the studio budget (in mutual w/IT and operations).
- Represents the studio at vendor meetings/events (related to Pipeline topics).
Qualifications & Skills:
- BS in Computer Science or Computer Graphics or equivalent Industry experience required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in feature film on the post-production side.
- Experience managing software, pipeline, and/or technology teams.
- Production experience with Maya, Katana, Houdini and/or Nuke, familiarity with relevant APIs.
- Prior experience working with and developing on ftrack or other Production & Asset Management Systems.
- Prior development experience with Python in a production environment.
- Must be able to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
