Job Opening: Compositing Artist
Location: London, UK/ Vanves, or Montpellier, France
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Compositing on challenging and exciting projects, including full CG shows and integrating 2D, 3D, and live-action elements to high-end visual effects.
- Manage your time effectively, working with Supervisors and Producers to meet show deadlines.
- Address the creative direction of the VFX Supervisor by providing technical and/or artistic solutions, while following the technical and artistic standards defined by the Compositing Supervisor and the HoD 2D.
- Attend dailies and other daily meetings set by production.
- Balance the creative and technical aspects of each shot while maintaining consistency across sequences.
- Take responsibility for own workload, time management, and notes/feedback actions required by Supervisors.
- Collaborate with the other departments in order to deliver shots as a team.
- Contribute to the knowledge sharing across the team. Regardless of level, we’re always keen to learn from each other and share new tools and ways of working.
- Report technical & organizational problems or solutions to the Compositing Supervisor or Lead.
- Deliver shots respecting the technical and quality standards (QC).
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong sense of initiative and creativity.
- Excellent working knowledge of Nuke and production experience with it.
- Good working knowledge of color space principles.
- A strong eye for detail, composition, color, and lighting.
- A comprehensive understanding of all technical and creative aspects of the VFX production and processes.
- Must be highly organized and have the ability to juggle several tasks at once in a highly efficient manner.
- Familiarity with production tracking tools.
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Understanding French is a bonus.
- Ability to collaborate and share knowledge with the rest of the team.
- Strong interpersonal skills, benevolence, with a positive and professional attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proactive with excellent organizational skills.
