Job Opening: Technical VFX Artist
Location: Madrid, Spain / Remote
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Design and create stylized visual effects for video games, with a special focus on detail and visual aesthetics.
- Collaborate closely with the development team to understand and meet desired requirements, both in terms of gameplay and visuals.
- Integrate visual effects efficiently, considering optimization and performance.
- Create shaders and advanced tools tailored to project needs to enhance workflow efficiency.
- Identify and resolve various technical issues that may arise during the process.
- Help establish asset workflows with master materials.
- Troubleshoot and solve VFX art production issues.
Qualifications & Skills:
- At least 3 years of experience in creating stylized visual effects within the game engine.
- Ability to handle shaders and proficiency in their development and modification.
- Solid 3D knowledge at a topological level and expertise in UV handling, with the ability to create custom geometries.
- Skill in creating textures for effects using Photoshop or Substance Designer.
- Understanding of color theory and animation principles, with keen attention to detail.
- Good technical knowledge about 3D graphics, textures, PBR materials, simulations, etc.
- Highly skilled with Adobe Package, Maya, and/or another 3D suite.
Nice to have:
- VFX-related degree.
- Knowledge of particle systems in Niagara (Unreal).
- Ability to create hand-drawn 2D effects and integrate them into the engine.
- Knowledge of Houdini.
- Full professional proficiency in English
