Job Opening: Technical Director

Responsibilities:
- Supervise development of and architect technology for a game prototype in progress, guiding development from pre production into production as the studio grows.
- Recommend solutions and approve technical plans and roadmaps.
- Write and develop robust, maintainable high and low level code to extend engine Unreal Engine functionality.
- Implement features for next-gen platforms, including prototypes and new technologies.
- Identify and solve technical problems as they arise, including cross-platform issues, debugging, profiling and optimizing for reduced memory usage and increased real-time performance.
- Maintain and add to existing codebase, including low/mid-level systems to support pipelines and higher-level programmers.
- Research new tools, techniques and processes and how they can benefit the studio.
- Collaborate productively, communicating ideas and issues clearly across disciplines.
- Exceptional analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Architect and participate in implementing all the different game modules and systems.
- Working with the build engineer and technical artists, architect and participate in the implementation and maintenance of potential non game specific systems used by content creators (extensions to engines, tools, build systems, pipeline improvements).
- Work closely with department leads to identify and set technical restrictions and ensure the team adheres to them.
Qualifications & Skills:
- At least 5 years in the video game industry as a Senior Engineer or Technical Director, having shipped multiple games across multiple platforms, and are expert in C++ programming, debugging and optimization.
- At least one of the titles worked on should have been developed using Unreal Engine.
- Preferably have worked with teams of different sizes and experienced game studios at different stages of growth.
- Production-minded and practice practical problem solving to deliver under time and resource constraints.
- Passion for and understanding of Character Action titles.
