Job Opening: Senior Environment Artist

Location: Seattle or Los Angeles, US / Remote

Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Start with a player first mentality, embedding an obsessive drive to know, understand, and serve the players who are engaged with the game
  • Work closely with the art team, designers, engineers, and producers to design and create world class environments that drive the vision of the game and delight players
  • Create content that works within technical constraints and can be used a benchmark for other artists
  • You will produce and iterate on a variety of assets through all phases of production including architecture, organic, hard-surface, and skybox assets
  • Be able to think about your art in the service of the world IP to create assets that will enrich the experience
  • Take an active role in the evolution of the game, working with all disciplines to understand the vision and design for the game and using that experience to inform concept work
  • Work Closely with Lead Environment Artist to help determine best practices for both internal and external artists
  • Understand and advocate best practices, pipelines, streamlining tools, and processes

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Significant experience on AAA game teams and shipped titles start to finish as an environment artist
  • A portfolio of inspiring work, you can show and talk about your ideas with the team
  • Strong modeling, texturing, spatial relationship, and iterative modeling skills
  • Strong artistic problem solving within the context of a particular art and gameplay style
  • Theory, visual storytelling skills
  • Help monitor and maintain team health including work life balance and overall well being (this is everyone’s job on our team)
  • Expert understanding of Photoshop, Maya/ Max, and ZBrush (or equivalent)

Bonus:

  • Unreal engine experience
  • Familiarity with procedural content creation
  • Strong architecture and traditional art skills
  • Experience working with external art vendors
