Job Opening: TD Houdini

Responsibilities:
- Simulation Development: Create and oversee complex simulations using Houdini.
- Procedural Tool Creation: Create and maintain tools that allow procedural generation ranging from single assets to full-scale environments.
- Workflow Optimization: Develop scripts, tools, and setups to optimize production processes and improve team efficiency. Elaborate on and maintain PDG workflows used during production.
- Technical Collaboration: Work closely with VFX artists, other TDs, and technical departments to integrate simulations into production pipelines.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical challenges faced by the team, particularly in terms of performance, rendering, and integration.
- Research and Development: Explore and implement new techniques and technologies to keep the studio at the cutting edge of VFX production capabilities.
- Artist Support: Provide technical assistance to artists to help them achieve their creative visions while respecting technical constraints.
- Documentation: Write and maintain clear and accessible technical documentation for the tools and workflows developed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a TD Houdini or in a similar role in an animation or VFX studio.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Houdini, with expertise in Python scripting, VEX, and tool creation. Knowledge of sotwares such as Maya, Deadline and Unreal Engine are a plus.
- Artistic Understanding: Strong understanding of artistic needs to translate creative concepts into effective technical solutions.
- Problem Solving: Ability to quickly identify technical issues and propose pragmatic and innovative solutions.
- Communication: Ability to work in a team and clearly communicate technical concepts to artists and non-technical staff.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic production environment.
