Job Opening: Game Design Lead for Clash of Clans
Location: Helsinki, Finland
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Build the design team needed to take Clash of Clans forward.
- Coach and develop your team members to be their best selves in the long run.
- Recruit and onboard new talent to fill the resource needs you identify.
- Drive a culture of synthesizing data, user research, player feedback and the team’s intuition to understand what players need from the game. Help your team hypothesize, measure and iterate their way to meeting those player needs.
- Work with the whole Clash team to figure out the best version of the game and lead the design team in building the roadmap to get us there.
- Help level up game design across Supercell by contributing to a culture of sharing learnings and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in a leading design role on a live service game. You understand the unique challenges behind designing games with no end, that players enjoy for years.
- Experience with strategy games, ideally in designing them but it’s enough if you’re a big fan of the genre. What’s most important is that you deeply understand what strategy game players want.
- Great knowledge of industry design trends and best practices. You should know how others are solving problems even if bespoke solutions are the answer.
- Able to drive excellent collaboration between game design and the other crafts and disciplines needed to run a game like Clash of Clans.
- Passion for excellence in all things and an obsession with delivering the best player experience.
Nice to haves
- Experience with Clash of Clans. Don’t worry if you don’t have it now. There’s plenty of time to try it before your interviews and if you get the role you’ll get to know the game very, very well!
