Job Opening: VFX Artist
Location: Guildford, United Kingdom
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Deliver stunning, realistic VFX for the FPS genre using proprietary real-time particle systems, within time and budget constraints.
- Create VFX assets for various stages of game development, from concept to final polish.
- Represent the VFX team and have a strong voice in meetings, communicating clearly and effectively with other team members across all time zones.
- Collaborate with other team members and disciplines to create VFX for stunning environments and compelling moments.
- Assist in the R&D of new pipelines and processes, documenting your findings.
- Creatively solve technical issues as they arise and address performance issues.
- Have a high standard of artistic skill in creating texture assets for effects.
- Have a critical eye and appreciation of cinematography when placing effects.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Highly skilled in all areas of 3D VFX principles and techniques for console hardware (Xbox, PS, PC).
- Strong overall artistic ability in visual effects.
- Passionate and egoless attitude that welcomes feedback and criticism, and enjoys working in a collaborative, iterative, and agile
process - Experience with and a good working knowledge of the limitations and expectations of current/next generation hardware.
- Excellent working knowledge of Maya/Max, Houdini, and Photoshop
- Experience with other engine toolsets such as Unreal, Unity, and proprietary game engines.
- Experience collaborating with graphic programmers and mentoring other artists.
- Strong background in modelling, animation, and/or traditional art.
- Experience with After Effects, Embergen, Blender, or similar.
- Experience and comfort with one or more scripting/programming languages.
- Passion for the Call of Duty franchise.
