Job Opening: Lead Finaling/Compositing Artist
Location: Mid-City, Los Angeles
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Client-side compositing pipeline troubleshooting
- Image-centric liaison between production, editorial, and post
- Nuke tools and workflows development
- Responsible for all paint fixes that come up during DI process
- Matte processing/production during the DI process
- Work closely with internal tech teams to ensure integration with our in-house pipeline
- Take responsibility of a brand-new area of our pipeline, get stuff done, and make our colorist, editorial and post supervisors happy!
- Lay the ground for a team of paint fix and finishing artist
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years’ experience on animated feature films, TV, and/or VFX features
- Experience in directing the development of tools and workflows for teams
- Thorough understanding of compositing
- Deep knowledge of Nuke (using, troubleshooting, script development, etc.)
- A comprehensive understanding of the Nuke Python API
- Extensive knowledge of industry-standard libraries and tools such as USD, PyQt, rez, git, etc.
- Great communication skills
- Willingness to work in a highly dynamic production environment and collaborate with artistic, Post and Editorial staff
- An ability to quickly acquire a working understanding of both off-the-shelf and proprietary software tools
- An adaptable approach, with the ability to balance your workload with the needs of the artists and production deadlines
- Working Knowledge of color pipelines using OCIO
Bonus:
- Experience with other VFX packages like Houdini and or Maya
- Experience developing in a C++ environment
