Job Opening: Senior Weapons Artist
Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Working with Art and Design leads to create highly detailed, realistic weapons and equipment that fit within our technical requirements.
- Work closely with the Technical Art department to ensure that high levels of both quality and performance are achieved.
- Help to establish workflows that fit the department’s needs.
- Help with mentoring and team training.
- Manage timelines, progress and deadlines.
- Contribute to reviews of in-house and outsourced art assets.
- Organize meetings to plan and track current and future tasks.
- Research and develop best practices in line with the latest technological developments.
- Verify weapon content is to the desired quality in game within the unreal framework.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience creating weapons and equipment/props for video games.
- Experience with UE4/5.
- Understanding of UV layout and texel density management.
- Hard-surface modeling/sculpting (preferably z-brush for sculpting).
- Familiarity with Substance Painter.
- Comfortable adapting to new techniques and workflows.
- Ability to understand and learn technical and creative concepts.
- Shading within the unreal environment

- Experience working with Marvelous Designer is a plus.
- Self-motivated to stay up-to-date with advances in game industry technology.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
