Job Opening: Senior Lighting Artist
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Setting the mood, and atmosphere and implementing lighting for all game environments (indoor, outdoor, cinematic) in compliance with art direction and technical specifications.
- Closely cooperate with level designers to ensure optimal player guidance.
- Setup and improve lighting pipelines from preproduction to the final product.
- Plan and coordinate your work regularly with your team, communicating effectively to ensure transparency and deliver tasks on time.
- Contribute innovative and original ideas towards optimizing lighting and look development for the production.
- Documentation and communication of technical and process guidelines for lighting creation and implementation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience as a lighting artist or closely related role in game development typically gained over 4+ years.
- Understanding of art fundamentals, e.g. the function of form, light behaviour, color, proportions, and shape.
- Great knowledge and use of real-time lighting techniques incl. topics like: Baked Lighting, Physically Accurate Lighting, Exposure, Atmosphere & (Volumetric) Fogging, Skyboxes/domes, post-processing, IES Lighting Profiles, etc.
- Familiarity with HDR & physically-based rendering (PBR) workflows.
- Portfolio showcasing a range of lighting setups and visual effects in various digital environments and on characters.
- Enthusiastic team player with a great passion for games & English on a proficient level.
