Job Opening: Senior Lighting Artist
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Light and render CG scenes, characters, and effects in Maya.
- Work closely with leads and supervisors to ensure work is being done in an efficient way that aligns with our pipeline.
- Work with other lighters as well as dynamics, lookdev, and compositing departments to ensure continuity for the project.
- Keep production staff and supervisors informed of progress, changes, and/or critical issues.
- Work with the compositors to ensure CG layers and elements can be integrated into live-action plates
Qualifications & Skills:
- Must be an Ontario resident.
- Should have a minimum of 3 years feature film or television visual effects experience in a similar role.
- Must have a keen eye for detail, composition, light, and color.
- Must have a strong understanding of MEL scripting and the technical aspects of lighting/rendering.
- Python experience beneficial but not required
- Experience with 3Delight and Nuke beneficial but not required.
- Ability to stay calm under the pressure of deadlines.
- Must be able to take direction positively, work in an organized way and be able to multitask.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with all members of our team. Must have the ability to work individually and with a team and solve problems and take initiative.
