Job Opening: Senior / Lead VFX Artist
Location: Barcelona, Spain
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Create and Lead: Design and manage real-time VFX, shaders, and particle systems using tools like Adobe Animate, Spine, Niagara, Unity VFX Graph, and custom solutions.
- Collaborate: Collaborate with design, art, and programming teams to align VFX with the game’s style and quality, define VFX needs, and integrate them into the game engine.
- Optimization: Ensure VFX performs well across all platforms by optimizing them using profiling tools in Unity.
- Shader Development: Develop shaders to enhance the game’s visual quality.
- Team Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of VFX artists, sharing best practices and helping them improve their skills.
- Stylized VFX Creation: Lead the creation of stylized visual effects that align with the game’s artistic vision, from initial concept to final implementation.
- Quality & Performance Balance: Maintain high visual quality while ensuring effects are optimized for performance across platforms.
- End-to-End Involvement: Be part of the entire VFX process, from early design to final integration in the game.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Real-Time VFX Creation: Strong experience with particle systems, shaders, and real-time visual effects.
- Scripting Skills: Skilled in scripting languages such as Python, C#, or other relevant technologies for VFX automation and enhancement.
- Profiling & Optimization: Solid understanding of profiling and optimizing VFX for performance in Unity.
- Pre-rendered & Real-Time FX: Experience with both pre-rendered VFX and real-time effects as required.
- Game Engines & Pipelines: Strong understanding of game engines, art pipelines, and modern tools.
- Stylized VFX: Proven experience in creating high-quality, stylized visual effects, backed by a strong portfolio.
- Mentorship: Experience in mentoring a VFX team, maintaining high standards of quality and performance.
