Job Opening: Senior FX Artist
Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Create a variety of VFX elements in real-time using particles, models, textures, animations, and lighting;
- Work in accordance with the artistic direction to achieve realistic effects (explosions, fire, weather effects, etc.);
- Contribute to the game’s atmosphere and narrative through artistically standout visual effects;
- Optimize special effects according to the limitations of various development platforms (number of particles, texture resolutions, etc.);
- Determine special effects needs with design, audio, and art teams;
- Collaborate with various departments to integrate VFX features into the game engine;
- Contribute to pipeline development.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience (7 years) in special effects creation;
- Good command of the French language;
- Master a special effects system of a game engine (Unreal, Crytek, Unity, etc.);
- Good knowledge of Photoshop, 3D Studio Max and/or Maya;
- Developed artistic sense;
- Ease of adapting to internal tools and a constantly changing environment;
- Passion for video games;
- Be able to fracture models and create destruction simulations;
- Knowledge of one or more simulation software (Houdini Fx, Thinking Particles, FumeFx, etc.);
- Knowledge of Script languages;
