Job Opening: Senior Character Artist
Location: Liverpool, UK
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Produce AAA-quality Character models that meet the design and direction, following existing pipelines.
- Work closely with the Character Art and Concept teams and be receptive to feedback from the Art Director and Lead Character Artist.
- Collaborate with Technical Art and Technical Animation to ensure all assets are efficient and fit for purpose.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experienced Character Artist in game development.
- A portfolio that demonstrates a high degree of Artistic ability, particularly experience in making clothes, hair, and accessories.
- Able to demonstrate a detailed understanding of human anatomy and proportion.
- Expertise in sculpting, 3D modeling in Maya/Max, and PBR texturing of Real-time characters in Substance Painter.
- An enthusiastic and collaborative nature, self-motivated, positive, and open to feedback.
- The capacity to address both creative and technical problems.
- Proficient with industry-standard packages including but not limited to Maya, Substance Painter, Zbrush, and Marvelous Designer.
- Solid understanding of character topology, and the ability to make well-optimized and animation-friendly meshes.
- Ability to work autonomously and to schedule, maintain good timekeeping, and self-organize.
- A good communicator, able to understand technical instructions and share knowledge with the team.
Desirable skills:
- Experience with Unreal engine.
- Knowledge of AAA hair authoring workflows.
- Shader knowledge is also a plus.
