Job Opening: VFX Artist
Location: Remote
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Create high fidelity, performant VFX assets.
- Collaborate with Art, Design, and Engineering teams to iterate and polish VFX.
- Maintain and adhere to a consistent art style provided by the project leads.
- Optimize VFX based on gameplay and technical constraints.
- Create and edit materials for shader-based VFX.
- Implement VFX using Blueprint and Sequencer UE4 tools.
- Clearly communicate updates and concerns with team members and lead artists.
- Participate in research and development of latest tools, shaders, technology, and workflows.
- Contribute to building internal community by encouraging artistic development, showcasing workflows, artistic techniques, providing quality feedback, and mentoring others.
- Actively improve skillset by staying on top of industry trends and techniques, new software, and product evaluation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3+ years of industry experience as a VFX artist in games.
- Experience with composition and framing skills, including sense of scale, timing, form, texture and color.
- Experience developing and maintaining a visual language across multiple VFX.
- Experience working in visual scripting environments such as Unreal Engine’s Cascade, Blueprints, and Material Editor.
- Experience working with Maya and Photoshop.
- Experience with current game-art pipelines and methodologies.
- Experience troubleshooting software issues and learn on the fly.
- Experience tackling challenges and problem solving with a sense of ownership.
- Experience adapting and learning different art styles.
