Job Opening: Rigging Artist
Location: Luxembourg, Europe
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Create rigging of characters, animals & props in MAYA with emphasis on the quality of the deformations
- Work with your team, supervisor and the Animation Director respecting the technical rules and the artistic vision established on the project
- Carry out the retakes requested by the Supervisor and the Director by demonstrating an analytical mind
- Work closely with the Supervisor to propose improvements of the internal tools & configurations
- Work closely with other departments keeping up with production standards, schedule and budget constraints
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous industry experience in at least two animation features
- Portfolio showcasing the latest Rig artwork
- Have a good knowledge of body mechanics & anatomy
- Master the rigging tools of MAYA, in particular for the creation of joints, skeletons, skinning and weighting, blendshapes and deformers as well as dependency nodes. Knowing plug-ins like mGear is a plus
- Be comfortable with the Linux / Unix environment
- Scripting with Python would be a plus
- Proficient in English and/or French
- Able to effectively and collaboratively communicate with people at all levels (technical and non-technical)
- Proven resourcefulness, solution-oriented
- Ability to work within a team, prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Knowing an asset manager like Shotgun is a plus
