
Job Opening: Matchmove Artist (All Levels)

The Matchmove Artist is responsible for recreating the motion of real-world cameras and objects within a 3D environment. This data forms the technical foundation on which all CG integration, animation, and effects depend. Ideal candidates combine a precise eye for detail with strong spatial awareness and problem-solving ability.
Key Responsibilities:

- Reconstruct camera and object motion accurately to align CG with live-action footage
- Generate 3D camera tracks, object tracks, and proxy geometry for downstream departments
- Align Lidar or photogrammetry data to ensure accurate scale and scene alignment
- Maintain continuity and accuracy across shots and sequences
- Collaborate closely with layout, animation, and compositing teams to ensure seamless handoffs
- Perform quality control of tracks, lens distortion, and scene setup before delivery
Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of camera optics, perspective, and spatial relationships
- Production experience using 3DEqualizer, PFTrack, Maya, or equivalent tools
- Knowledge of lens distortion workflows and undistort/redistort processes
- Familiarity with object tracking, body tracking, and set reconstruction techniques
- Ability to troubleshoot difficult shots and maintain precision under tight deadlines
- Bonus: experience with Python/MEL scripting or data management automation
Experience Levels We’re Hiring:
- Intern / Fresher: Basic understanding of camera tracking principles and 3D space
- Junior: 1–2 years’ experience handling straightforward camera or object tracks
- Mid Level: 3–5 years’ experience managing complex shots and integrating Lidar data
- Senior: 5+ years’ experience, strong technical and problem-solving ability, mentor to juniors
- Lead / Supervisor: Oversees team output, ensures technical accuracy, and sets pipeline standards
