Job Opening: Lighting & Compositing Supervisor
Location: Remote
Type: Freelance, Full-time
Responsibilities:
- Represent the department on the project, ensuring top-level visual and technical quality
- Participate in bidding, planning, and evaluating project needs
- Propose and guide Lighting/Comp Leads, supervise their work throughout the project
- Review and track project progress, suggest adjustments when needed
- Ensure communication and documentation (in English when needed) is complete in our internal system (dProject)
- Actively mentor artists and support their growth
- Drive improvements in workflow and efficiency based on project experience
- Contribute to post-mortems and apply lessons learned to future productions
Qualifications & Skills:
- Registered freelancer with the ability to invoice under Hungarian law
- At least 2 years of experience as a Senior, and 1 year as a Lead in 3D Lighting/Compositing
- Stylized
- Strong project management mindset and problem-solving skills
- Deep knowledge of:
- Autodesk Maya lighting/shading features
- Gaffer (/katana or other node based 3d software)
- Node-based compositing experience ( Nuke)
- Ability to choose and apply the best workflow for each task
- Solid understanding of the entire CG pipeline and dependencies between departments
- Comfortable estimating time and resources accurately
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Clear and confident communicator with leadership experience
- Responsible, focused, and efficient under deadlines
- Works well independently and in a team
- Continuously seeks improvement and learning opportunities
- Broader knowledge of the other 3D animation fields and pipelines
