Job Opening: Lead Artist
Location: Remote
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the co-designer and director to understand the overall game vision
- Jointly collaborate with other discipline leads to scope art deliverables and to define and execute on the art pipeline
- Assist with creation of artistic process and pipeline documentation and an art style guide
- Cooperate with our producer on planning and organising the art team’s tasks in coordination with the other disciplines
- Create assets that establish the aesthetic style and a high-quality benchmark for the art team
- Oversee and review the art team’s work and provide constructive and kind feedback, ensuring high quality and aesthetic cohesion with the art style guide
- Coordinate asset requirements with producer, 3D artists, animator, and sound designer
- Commit to fostering an inclusive and supportive creative culture in a diverse studio
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years experience working collaboratively in an art director or lead artist role at a videogame studio
- Shipped at least one commercial videogame title as a lead artist on PC and/or console
- Ability to produce paintovers and concepts
- Experience creating stylized and hand-crafted textures
- Empathetic and collaborative team leader with a positive and open communication style
- Sensitive to detail with strong design sensibilities and an eye for aesthetics
- Strong and unique personal art style and excelling in a variety of artistic trades
- Excellent creative collaboration, presentation, and teamwork skills
- Comfortable collaborating remotely using productivity tools such as Google Workplace, Notion, Favro, and Miro, with an aptitude to learn new software and systems
- Desire to grow with and collaborate in the growth of the studio
- Comfortable working alongside GMT (London) time zone (offset by less than 6 hours)
Nice-to-haves
- Based in the UK (or EEA)
- Prior experience delivering a 3D first-person title
- Prior experience shipping a game on PlayStation
