Job Opening: 3D Character Artist
Location: Remote

Responsibilities:
- Design, model, and texture high-quality production-ready 3D character assets for medical simulation environments, ensuring anatomical accuracy and visual clarity.
- Rig and create high-quality animations for 3D characters that accurately represent behaviours in medical scenarios.
- Create realistic and stylized 3D scene objects such as medical equipment, hospital environments, and simulation props.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure models accurately represent medical scenarios, tools, and procedures.
- Work closely with technical artists/animators and engineers to ensure assets are presented correctly in Unity.
- Optimize assets for performance on VR platforms without sacrificing visual fidelity.
- Maintain a clean and organized asset library, adhering to naming conventions and pipeline standards.
- Stay current with industry best practices for real-time character and environmental asset creation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, design, and content teams to bring engaging and educational simulations to life.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3+ years of experience creating 3D character and environment assets for real-time applications and games with a strong understanding of PBR workflow.
- Proficient English communication skills.
- Strong modeling, texturing, and UV unwrapping skills using tools such as 3D Studio Max, Blender, and Character Creator 4.
- Strong understanding of animation workflows.
- A solid understanding of human anatomy and the ability to accurately model realistic characters and medical equipment.
- Experience creating both organic (characters, body parts) and hard-surface (medical equipment, environments) assets.
- Proficient in rigging and character animation.
- Experience optimizing assets for performance on VR platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating clean, production-ready assets.
- Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems.
- Experience with medical visualization or simulations.
- Experience with animation workflows using Unity’s Animator system and third-party libraries (e.g., Animancer).
- Familiarity with Unity’s Universal Render Pipeline (URP).
- Familiarity with Unity lighting system and optimisation strategies.
- Basic knowledge of C# scripting to assist with asset integration or tooling.
- Experience working on VR projects.
- Comfortable working with real-world medical data or imagery to inform asset creation.
