Job Opening: Rigger

Location: North Lakes, Brisbane, Australia

Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Use your expertise in rigging principles and software proficiency (in Maya) to develop and maintain rigs for characters, creatures, and objects.
  • To automate and optimize rigging processes, write and maintain scripts in Integrated Development Environments such as PyCharm or VSCode.
  • Adhere to project timelines and production schedules while maintaining a commitment to delivering high-quality rigs that align with the project’s artistic and technical requirements.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as modelers and animators, to ensure rigs are intuitive, efficient, and easy to animate, troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate effectively with directors and fellow team members, actively participating in creative and technical discussions and incorporating feedback into your work.
  • Ensure all work follows studio policies and guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability as a rigger in Maya.
  • Proficiency in scripting for Maya, with experience using IDEs such as PyCharm or VSCode.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to rigging and animation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for creating robust and intuitive rigs that contribute to memorable and visually impressive animations.
