Job Opening: FX Artist
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Animation, Modeling, Lighting, and Compositing teams to design and implement VFX that align with the project’s artistic direction.
- Create particle systems, RBD simulations, volumetric effects, and fluid dynamics in Houdini.
- Develop character-based FX such as cloth, hair, fur, and other secondary motion effects.
- Integrate FX into final shots using appropriate lighting, rendering, and compositing workflows.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and document FX setups for efficient production and future use.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a VFX-related role within animation, games, or visual media.
- Strong proficiency in Houdini; familiarity with Maya, Unreal Engine, or After Effects is a plus.
- Solid understanding of simulation systems, including fluids, smoke, particles, rigid bodies, and soft-body FX.
- Experience creating stylized FX as well as realistic simulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver within production deadlines.
- Experience developing tools or custom digital assets (HDAs) in Houdini.
- Knowledge of real-time FX workflows in Unreal Engine.
- Understanding of FX-lighting handoff and integration into a production rendering pipeline.
