Job Opening: Flame Finishing Artist
Location: London, England, UK
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Conforming edits including manipulating EDLs, understanding vari-speeds, dissolves, wipes etc.
- Working with offline edits, eye-matching material.
- Clocking and laybacks.
- QC & Mastering requirements including the knowledge of title safety, social aspect ratios and various framerates.
- Understanding of Clearcast rules for legal type and size, flashing.
- Versioning for international markets including framerate conversions.
- Bidding hours.
- Organising media for archiving & liaising with Bookings to ensure the space is managed efficiently on the Flames.
- Managing project workflow with other staff flame artists and freelancers
- General compositing, green screen, screen comps, pack replacements and beauty work.
- Solving creative problems using simple, efficient techniques, and reacting enthusiastically to client notes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Ability to react to changes efficiently and meet delivery deadlines.
- Ability to demonstrate creative thinking.
- A good working knowledge of Adobe software such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Some knowledge of 3D software packages such as C4D & Maya.
- Some knowledge of Nuke would be beneficial.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience working directly with clients in attended sessions.
- Experience working as a finishing artist or in a versioning department.
- Demonstrated experience implementing fast, effective solutions.
- Strong communication skills.

- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to work in a high pressured and evolving environment.
- Good knowledge of photography.
- Strong interest in filmmaking and VFX techniques and technologies.

- Expert knowledge of Flame timeline tools.
- Good understanding of delivery formats, resolutions framerates and framerate conversions.
- Good understanding of 2D and 3D tracking.
- Good understanding of colourspace pipelines.
- Good knowledge of cameras, film resolutions, aspect ratios and lenses
- A good working knowledge of Adobe software such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Some knowledge of 3D software packages such as C4D & Maya
- Some knowledge of Nuke would be beneficial.
- Minimum 5+ years experience working in the VFX Industry
- Experience in a Facilities Environment essential
- Experience working directly with clients.
