Job Opening: Character Rigger – Virtual Production

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Implement animation control rigging systems for complex realistic characters and props using Maya
  • Collaborate with Designer and Engineers in the development of in-game animation systems
  • Troubleshoot and fix rig issues, collect artistic feedback and fine tune rig behavior
  • Troubleshoot and consistently present solutions to technical issues related to animations
  • Interact closely with animators and other technicians to maintain and improve our animation tools
  • Provide hands-on support for Artists, Animators and Designers

Qualifications & Skills:

  • You look back on at least three years of production experience in rigging and at least one shipped title or equivalent project work
  • Strong knowledge of Maya character rigging (full body / facial) as well as character skinning and physics simulation setup (clothing / hair)
  • Experience in working with game engine animation systems, in particular with the Unreal Engine 4 including Blueprint, component and general game design experience
  • Experience with motion capture pipelines and version control software
  • Experience in writing Python, and understand how workflows can be optimized with scripts or automation
  • Self-motivation with a strong work ethic, flexibility and ability to work in a team

Plus:

  • Knowledge of MayaApi, PyQt and / or Pyside
