Job Opening: Matte Painter
Location: Vancouver, Canada
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Paint backgrounds and props using Photoshop to fit with the approved style of the series
- Maintain the style and execution of the backgrounds as per the requirements of the production
- Actively participate in team and department meetings
- Meet all project deadlines and milestones and follow the production schedule to execute all episodic elements as specified by the episodic delivery schedule
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and teammates to identify problems and solutions
- May mentor less experienced artists and lead by example, providing them with support, guidance, and instruction in areas that provide for their artistic and professional growth
Qualifications & Skills:
- Full command of Photoshop
- Strong knowledge of techniques for photo-realistic rendering of paintings
- Experience and/or ability to use Maya as an asset (for modeling purposes or accessing existing CG assets for reference)
- 2 to 3 years experience in a similar capacity preferred
