Job Opening: Lighting/Comp Supervisor
Location: Belgium, Europe
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Lighting/Comp team, ensuring that the lighting & composting of the shots/sequences follow the creative direction and visual style of the animated feature.
- The Lighting/ Comp Supervisor scrutinizes each approaching sequence to confirm that all elements are in place for the Lighting/Comp Artist or Lead to begin their shot(s).
- This would include: colour script, key concept, final-layout validation .mov, sequence kick-off brief and matte paintings have been provided.
- Enforces that proper lighting & compositing techniques, methods, and naming conventions are consistently adhered to.
- Conducts daily “check-ins” with each Lighting/Comp Artists to follow the planning, provide technical guidance, track render times, and that proper farm priority is given (based on schedule) and reinforce the visual continuity.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of lighting and compositing experience working within a CG Animation Feature production pipeline.
- Extensive experience as a lead or supervising artist.
- Possesses an excellent understanding of asset tracking and management tools.
- Expert-level working in Maya, Arnold, Nuke.
- Ability to work with filmmakers/studios in relevant environments.
- Strong creative background and a great artistic eye.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent attention to technical details and ability to deliver complete and accurate sequences.
- Adaptability/Flexibility of style.
- Programming abilities are a plus.
- Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Art, Illustration, Photography, Cinematography, Computer Graphics or equivalent job experience.
