Job Opening: Lighting Artist (Mid – Senior)

Job Description:
- Work closely with VFX Supervisors and Leads to determine best approach for look development and lighting
- Develop final look in shot development process
- Produce final overall look that far exceeds client expectations
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of color space and passes
- Work with other TDs and art directors to create photo-real lighting
- Accurately interpret concept art and design from the Art Department
- Use and understand 3D/2D applications such as Houdini, Maya, and Nuke
- Provide input regarding tools and interfaces to improve throughput
- Design, self-direct, and organize your work efficiently
Qualifications:
- At least 5+ years of feature film production experience working with Houdini and/or Maya
- Experience lighting and rendering with Arnold, Mantra, and V-Ray
- Ability to script in Python and Hscript
- Ability to quickly master proprietary effects tools and pipeline tools
- Knowledge of Houdini – Solaris would be an add-on
- Strong communication skills and must be able to work well within a team
- Exercise high level of focus and skill in fast-paced production environment
- Ability to perform visual and analytical problem-solving
- Strong demo reel and/or portfolio in realistic look development and lighting
