Job Opening: Lead VFX Artist
Location: Fully Remote, UK
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Lead a small team of VFX artists focused on the creation of VFX at all levels of complexity using Unreal Engine 5 and associated creation software.
- Collaborate with co-developers and the Technical Art Director on creating uniquely stylized content.
- Define working practices and ensure authored content is adhering to any defined structures and standards.
- Collaborate with the design and engineering departments on VFX that attract and immerse the player, while clearly conveying mechanical, story and other information.
- Ensure quality VFX to show the game world at its best.
- Consider performance implications and handle optimisation.
- Communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with other members of the art team using Miro, Slack, Jira and video calls.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that any bugs or issues that require addressing are communicated effectively.

- Passionate about creating games and delivering the highest quality VFX.
- Strong interpersonal skills: the ability to communicate positively and effectively.
- Proactively seeks and acts on feedback from peers.
- Proficiency in shader creation.
- Shipped AAA experience utilizing Unreal.
- Knowledge of current AAA generation games and VFX.
- Experience with Houdini/Embergen or equivalent.
- Experience with programming/Blueprints.
- Familiarity with other disciplines (Animation, Modelling, Lighting etc).
