Job Opening: Lead Editor
Location: Hillsboro, Oregon, US

Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key member of the production’s leadership team, interfacing with production staff and department leads.
- Edit picture and sound through all stages of production, from early production (animatic) through delivery of the final animated version.
- Make decisions regarding pacing, acting, dialogue, music and sounds effects that determine the quality and delivery of the film.
- Supervise music, and sound mixes.
- Work closely with Producers to ensure all final film and sound elements are properly prepped for post production, including attending the score recording and final mix as needed.
- Work closely with Production Management to ensure tracking systems for various productions are properly supported and maintained.
- Responsible for the management and operation of all aspects of editorial and post production including the management of personnel and the design and implementation of workflow processes.
- Monitor equipment needs, identify problem areas, and recommend improvements.
- Remain appraised of latest technology and production developments in the field and act as technical & production liaison to LAIKA Technology group.
- Manage training and development of talent within the department.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 10+ years of experience as an Editor or equivalent experience in a full feature film or animated television series.
- Excellent working knowledge of film production pipelines and methodologies.
- Ability to anticipate and manage multiple tasks within a dynamic, fast-paced, and deadline-driven production environment.
- Ability to maintain calm professionalism in a stressful production atmosphere.
- Strong understanding of Avid editing systems.
- Knowledge of video, film and audio mixers.
- Knowledge of ProTools, Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop.
- Strong understanding of different video and audio compression techniques.
