Job Opening: Lead Concept Artist
Location: Remote
Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Guide and mentor the art team in developing stunning art assets for the game project
- Evaluate and clarify defined art standards
- Ensure that produced and integrated art assets respect the artistic vision of the game and meet the quality standards
- Work with production to plan your team’s work, anticipate any risks, and ensure that the schedules meet project needs
- Keep art team aligned with the project objectives
- Regularly review the team’s work and provide clear and constructive feedback
- Maintain constructive and efficient collaboration between art and other discipline teams
- Develop and maintain a close personal working relationship with other project leads, producers, directors and any other stakeholders to keep forward momentum
- Proactively participate in evaluating working methods and improving existing pipelines
- Share any relevant knowledge and recommend best practices in your area of operation
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in team leadership and management
- Ability to inspire others
- Prior experience leading a team of artists or animators
- Proven experience in the video game industry
- A range of experience in various areas of game art, including creation of backgrounds, characters, game objects, user interface, animation, and creation of particle effects.
- Strong artistic skills in traditional or digital painting
- Excellent knowledge in Photoshop or other equivalent software
- Experience with game engines, preferably Unity 3D
- Excellent communication skills
- Attitude oriented toward teamwork and problem solving
- Bonus: Familiarity with 3D software like Blender, Maya3d
